Hi folks.
Just had a great coffee with Carl and picked up the Archer I purchased from him.
Al is a true artisan and I am so happy to now be the proud owner of this beautiful watch. Hopefully the pictures below will convey the level of quality and attention to detail Al puts into his watches. For the price I feel they are a bargain!
The level of fit and finish when viewed in macro is astonishing. You can see the level of attention to detail and care Al puts into the building of his watches. I know this won't be my last Archer Watch.
Thanks so much Al, the world is a richer and better place with artisans such as you in it!
First up the dial with the discrete Archer logo with the Maple leaf in the middle.
Next a view of the immaculately finished ETA 6498 movement which Al strips, checks over, lubricates with high quality lubricants and then puts back together and times to well within COSC specifications. The winding on this manual movement is buttery smooth and when one pulls the beautiful crown out there is an almost gun like click and snap to it, clean, mechanical and sure.
Talking of the crown, take a look at this! Beautifully machined work on this crown. This really does show the level of attention to detail Al goes to..
Now some close-up's of the dial. I really hope they convey the beauty of this Sterling silver dial. I think I have managed to capture the lustre and sparkle but really, it is even better in real life. The dial has that beautiful creaminess of colour that one normally only finds on vintage watch dials, its exquisite I feel. Also, note the sharp, clear numerals, and railroad track markings in gloss black and also the beautiful blue of the heat blued hands.
You only get that level of depth of colour with heat blued hands I find.
One last thing before the dial pictures. Notice the fine concentric circles on the sub dial at 6 O'clock. Honestly this dial could be found on watches costing tens of thousands I feel..
And now, lastly. A picture of the Sterling next to my Omega. I think this really conveys what Al was trying to achieve with the Sterling, that antique beauty brought bang up to date.
I hope you enjoy looking at these pictures. Thank you Carl for selling me this beauty, Carl is as you know my good friend but be sure that even if he were not I would in a heartbeat recommend him as a seller. First class all the way.
Also, Al. Thank you so much for creating such a beautiful wristwatch and I wish you all the success in the world with your company. True integrity is sadly hard to find these days but it can be found within the workshop of Archer Watches.
