I like this one better than the AT model that was discussed here (http://wristwatchforums.proboards.com/thread/12615/james-bond-watch-movie-spectre) back in February. But it's a dive watch - why make the bezel unidirectional and replace it with 0-11 indices rather than the traditional dive bezel? I do like the lollipop second hand addition and the larger Omega symbol at 12 o'clock though. Overall, I think I'd rather have the new SM300 and buy this NATO to wear it on. Then I'd have a proper bezel without the PCLs on the new SM300, and I bet it's cost me less than the 7,007 people who buy this LE. www.ablogtowatch.com/omega-seamaster-300-spectre-limited-edition-watch/

I'm sure many will like this watch and like you point out, it has some good traits to it. That being said though, I feel as if it's yet another failed limited edition for the Bond films. I never understood paying a premium for a watch Bond didn't even wear in the film. He wears a regular one, not the 007 "Limited" edition of several thousand...
I can understand somewhat why an Omega collector or huge Bond fan might want to own the piece but it does nothing for me, personally. I too would rather the SeaMaster 300 under these circumstances. I am certainly excited for the movie though but simply over Omega's attempts to market it.

Looking forward to seeing this one. Should have it at the Boutique any time now, as some of the Boutiques in the US have it already. I do like it, but the Globemaster is my favorite. One very good thing, is that this one comes with a steel bracelet as well, and it is all brushed, not with the PCLs. Can't wait to see it, if just for that alone.

All all brushed bracelet would be nice on that one. I'll be interested to get your perspective on the bezel after seeing it in person.

The extra springbars, strap change tool and loupe are a nice bonus too! I wonder if this means the regular SM300's might be getting the brushed bracelet option soon too?

Here are some pics I took yesterday at the Boutique. They just got one in on Friday. I really liked the watch - a lot. The bezel, although not typical for a diver, gives the watch a uniqueness in addition to the lollipop second hand, and the "12" missing and the Omega logo moved up. I like the look that it gives the dial. And seeing the all-brushed bracelet, it makes way more of a difference to the looks of it than I thought. Must say I really love the lollipop second hand. The only way I can really describe how the watch affects me, is that it has almost a toy-like quality to it somehow. Definitely my favourite Bond issue. If I was getting an SM300, I would gladly spend the extra grand to get the 007 LE:
Sorry about these first two pics. I don't know why they come out rotated.
Sorry about the quality of the pics. I'm never very good at taking them with the lighting in the Boutique.
Here's a couple of pics off the website, to compare the dials of the regular SM300 and the LE:
I have to say there is nothing I did not like about the Sceptre LE model. I don't really like the choice of NATO in the pics, but when I saw it in person, I got a different impression. I know that if I had the watch, though, I would only wear it on the bracelet. I forgot to get a pic of the caseback, so I might to back today. I am also hoping that I can get them to actually put the watch on the bracelet, so I can see how it looks. I have never even seen a pic online with the Sceptre on it's bracelet.
MSRP here in Canada is $8050CAD for the Sceptre, $7050CAD for the SM300 on bracelet, and $6950CAD on leather strap. I would love to pick up that Sceptre, but my funds just don't allow it right now. I would personally have no problem spending the 8 grand for this watch. Besides, I still want to see the Globemaster - not just the Carnet models - but I don't think they will be out until Feb. By then it will be almost time for Basel 2016, so I might as well wait to see what that brings.
Cheers, Carl

Carl, in the last paragraph you mention the price for a SM300 on a bracelet. Is the std SM300 available on a fully brushed bracelet?

I would love to see one of those in person. These new boxes blow the old ones away.

Carl, in the last paragraph you mention the price for a SM300 on a bracelet. Is the std SM300 available on a fully brushed bracelet? I don't think so, but would hope that they would make it available. Seems like for now the all brushed is exclusive to the Sceptre. It looks soooooo much better to me than the PCL. I'm going back today. My friend Sasan should be there, and he is really good about switching straps/bracelets , and he is just as curious as I am to see the brushed bracelet on the watch. So hopefully that will happen.

The only new style box I saw in the AD was for the last 007 limited edition. It wasn't nearly as nice as this one. I'm a HUGE fan of what they're they're doing. Audemars Piguet and some others have been at this for a while. This just makes the watch feel so much more special. Sadly the closest Omega AD to me hardly has anything in stock, ever. Even the ones downtown Toronto or at the malls outside of Toronto are very much limited. Its a shame we don't have a boutique here too.

Here are some photos I got today at the Boutique. Sasan was kind enough to put the watch on the bracelet for me:
As good as it looks on the brushed bracelet, and it is definitely my favourite of all the SM300 models, I think that it is just not the watch for me. I'm going to wait and see the Globemaster when it comes out, and also what Basel 2016 brings. The thing with me is that I am so happy to have a Speedy Moonwatch again, I know that everything I have seen so far would take second place. Nothing like being happy with what you have! Cheers, Carl

Man, that looks great on the brushed bracelet. Big thanks to Sasan for putting it on the bracelet for you.

Definitely a Winner IMHO.
Great to see companies embracing their history.
Well done Omega
