Well, I'm biased as the DD is my Grail but the black dialed gold sub is an all time classic as well. I think if you really loved your TT sub and lead a more casual life then the sub would be the one to go for. Having said that I only own Tshirts and would still have the DD.
I really don't think you can go wrong with either. A wild card. If I were looking at the sub look I think I would end up plumping for the green dial GMT instead. I saw one once and it was stunning!
Which one tugs at your heart strings more Ron? For that one is the right one to get!

Yeah, I'm torn too. In the YG DD's my preference is for a black or white dial with the Roman numerals on the dial with a smooth bezel - I like a little more contrast since I find it easier to read. Now the YG sub with the black dial, well that's a winner all day long. Then there is also the YG GMT-IIc with the black dial and green GMT hand, which is a stunner too! Choices, choices, choices....

I just don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices personally. For me a solid YG Rolex no matter which one is one of the icons of the watch world. It's simply down as I said previously to the one that makes your heart sing the most Ron. Both dial choices Roger days are stunning as well and I wonder if you had a black dial on the DD it would make it a little sportier looking which would get you the best of all worlds!

Looking at the great service all the members have had on this forum I would personally go for takuya all day long!

That's a tough choice Ron. I would go for the YG sub just because it's sportier. But for you, I think the gold DD looks the part and oozes sophistication.

Now THIS is one heck of a win-win situation! There's no "wrong" choice here, to be honest. It all depends on what is currently or will be in your collection. If you have a stainless steel sport model from Rolex, Omega or anything similar the Day-Date should be the way to go. That being said, if you're into the GMT function like me and love the bezel contrast, it's quite simple. Can't wait to see what you decide on in the end!

I'd normally say Sub but he already has the TT Submariner, so I voted DD.

DD is a more interesting piece, considering he has the TT sub, unless he is trading it. Even so, I would suggest the DD for him.....

Gold Day-Date! I actually think the TT Sub that you already have looks nicer than the all gold. I think, for me, it's the bezel somehow on this one that doesn't work for me.
For me, a solid gold watch should be smaller and more subtle. The DD oozes class, and the Sub screams "look at me, I can afford a solid gold Rolex". But, it's whatever you are comfortable with. I just think that the diver watches look a lot better in steel.
Cheers, Carl
