I can put you in touch with Takuya as well. He’s TX based and a trusted reseller.

So Steve, you're not sure what you want Sub, GMT or EXPY II. Don't become confused with the amount of data and info, keep it simple at first. The more you learn though, you'll find that there isn't a one size fits all and many of us currently own a dozen or more, many more will flip a dozen or more a year. Vintage, modern, classic, there are many choices.
Is there a particular mission you're looking to fill? Could be jewelry, international time-keeping while traveling, like the styling, diving, desire for a great time piece, investment, status symbol, etc. Each one of us here is in the hobby for one or more of these reasons.
Tell us what you want it for (daily wear, occasional, safe queen) and we'll start your indoctrination. It will give this small group something to open up about.
Welcome aboard.

I am mostly looking for a daily wearer and something that will hold up or I don't have to worry about taking off (first thought was submariner). On my wish list, I would also like if it could be a gmt or something that would allow me to keep a second time zone. The three Rolex watches I am between are the GMT, Submariner and Explorer II. Last night I was also looking at the Breitling Avenger GMT and wondered if anyone had feedback on it in comparison. I am assuming the Breitling is not the same quality, but for less money I would probably have less of an issue if it isn't as durable. Thank you for all the input.

So that's a good question. Some people buy a Rolex and think of it as an investment (expecting it to go up in value) and they have been for the last 10-15 year, but they do drop when the economy tanks in a recession because the market gets flooded from people needing money. That said, a Breitling will lose a lot of money on day 1 and will be slower to sell and sell for a lower % of initial purchase price if you had to. However, I have both Breitling and Rolex watches in my collection and love them both. If you decide to go non-Rolex, you have a lot of brand options in addition to Breitling. Are you in Dallas? If so, go down to Timeless with Al and browse and then hit some of the other brand specific stores in town. Seeing things on your wrist is a great way to start narrowing it down.

Thank you for the feedback. Which would you say is the most durable or is there one that holds up better to scratches than the others? Not in Dallas, but next time I am down there for work I will try to check them out.

Both Breitlings that I own are titanium, not SS, however, it's hard to beat Rolex's SS - they use a 904L steel and it's really nice. I think the Rolex is also a classic and timeless design, which is why their designs are some of the most copied in the world.
