A new home market only automatic with a totally new (6R15) 23 jewel movement (that hacks and hand winds), sapphire crystal, 38mm, 100m WR. I've already e-mailed Katsu Higuchi about getting one of these bad boys.

Yes, there are 8 models currently in the lineup, some with bracelets, some with straps. Prices will be in the $325US to $375US range. Here's is a pic of the movement. Looks like a cross between the 4S15 and the 7S26.

I heard earlier this year on TZ that Seiko was going to introduce their top line watches in the US soon. The discussion insued about how Americans associate Seiko with cheap watches and that no one but true WIS would buy a $4000 Seiko. I bet it will be difficult for them to break into the American luxury market, but those Grand Seikos are probably among the best watches made at that price point!

How do "Grand seikos" compare in fit and finish to swiss brands?? I know the movements are on the same level, but dont know about the finish? They equal or surpass just about any Swiss brand you care to name, including Rolex. Grand Seikos are totally hand made, and there are very few Swiss brands that can claim that anymore.
