Hi guys, any gossip on what might be expected at Basel this year? I’m hoping they will re-jig the Submariners with more balanced cases and do away with those blocky lugs. I hope they keep them at 40mm to differentiate them from the SD.
I wonder if they will limit the production of the 50th Anniversary SD with the red text and revert back to white text.
A bigger Daytona wouldn’t go astray. The 40mm just looks way too small on my wrist. Chronographs are better when around 42mm imho.

The only rumor I’ve heard so far is that CHIP might be going again!

One I have seen is Tudor hinting about bringing back a Sub with the triangle hour markers at 3, 6, 9. If done right, that could be a big seller.

I'll be interested to read how the event unfolds. So many brands have pulled out of the official event due to excessive costs haven't they? But I read they might have their own areas nearby? And they've changed the people at the top for Basel.

Nobody seems to have a clue. I was at my AD yesterday, and they also have their own Rolex watchmaker on site, and a really good relationship with Rolex. If they had any word, then they are not saying. We were discussing how there used to be at least a teaser a month or so ahead of Basel. I did get an invite to a Rolex event coming up soon after Basel. So they obviously have something in the works. Milgauss and Explorer II updates would be my guess. I thought about possible changes to the Submariner, but I kind of wonder. The GMT has the Super Case as well, and it really seems popular on the Sub. Perhaps, at most, the Sub will get the newer movement. Anyone's guess. Cheers, Carl

carl - movement updates seem very logical. Also, the ceramic bezel Exp II mockups that have been floating around for a few years seem logical too considering how big of a hit they were on the Daytona.

More watches that no one will be able to buy is my guess... That’s a given, sadly.

I have to say, regardless of the watches themselves, I hate the way Rolex does business. They are basically not a very nice persons on every level...
