I have to say, regardless of the watches themselves, I hate the way Rolex does business. They are basically not a very nice persons on every level... That’s a bit harsh. The staff here at the OZ HQ and at their ADs are excellent to deal with. Lovely people.

I don’t think he was talking about the AD staff, but rather about the way in which Rolex does business and the way in which they treat the ADs. They really aren’t a nice company to do business with.

Also, the ceramic bezel Exp II mockups that have been floating around for a few years seem logical too considering how big of a hit they were on the Daytona. I hope not. It's the last of the true tool watches. Never been a Daytona fan, but the only one I'd wear would be one with the matching metal bezel.

Yeah, corporate is pushing ADs to specs ton of money remodeling their stores and then leaving them high and dry on desirable inventory. It’s building value for the brand but not so much for the stores.

The staff here at the OZ HQ and at their ADs are excellent to deal with. Lovely people. Well it's not as harsh as it was when I wrote it! LOL! And of course I'm not talking about staff at stores, or even at HQ's, but the corporate culture of how "Rolex the business entity" does business. Yes policies and procedures stem from people, but I don't think it's all the people's fault who work for them, as corporate culture is passed down in many ways. And to clarify when I said "at every level" I was speaking about relationships with those they do business with corporately, not about individuals again - I should have clarified my comments more. This isn't just about the recent shortage of models either - Rolex has for a long time been the big green bully of the watch world, and they throw their weight around a lot, usually against people who don't have the resources to fight back (hmmm - reminds me of someone else…). This latest garbage is just more of the same, but this time though the consumers are starting to see how they operate, and it isn't pretty. I see a lot of people on forums turning away from the brand because of the BS, so at least in the short term they are losing customers. When they start supplying what people want again, I'm sure the majority will flock back like sheep, but there will be a certain percentage that will have moved on. Anyway, not meaning to rile the faithful...carry on... Cheers, Al

I think new explorer II and movement updates across Sub and GMT line, with a new “2” prefix reference number.
Maybe new millgaus.

I think they cocked it up, though. Those huge plank hands... I don't think ceramic belongs on it, either. It works on a Daytona, but not Explorer IMO. I've always liked the brushed steel bezel. I'd like to see a heritage SUB (without date), but we know that's unlikely, especially as Tudor are churning out the cheapo versions of old SUBs and GMTs.

I’d like to see the Explorer II back at 40mm, but I know that won’t happen. Agreed. SD too Also agreed, but that won’t happen either. IMHO the 40mm SD was the perfect diver, but nowadays people want their “perfect diver” to be recognised from a mile away, they didn’t want it confused with the “plebeian” Sub. So... they made it bigger. That watch, in 40, with no cyclops, keep the red writing. Perfection.

Too bad the 95 percent of the customer base, those that buy to impress others, have spoken loud enough for Rolex to listen.

I looked at the 40mm version, which I had loved in photos, but IRL it didn't appeal to me. When the 42 came out, I jumped on it and still love it years later. BTW - good to see you vincent65.
